Privacy Policy
Effective September 10, 2026
This policy explains information handling on Appliance Sherpa at appliancesherpa.com. Appliance Sherpa helps people discover and compare appliance parts and links to third-party sellers. Their websites and purchases are covered by their own privacy policies.
Information used to provide the service
When you search, we process the model numbers, part numbers, and search terms you enter to retrieve and display results. Searches can be sent to our search infrastructure and data providers to find relevant parts and offers. Do not enter personal or sensitive information in part search.
Our hosting and security systems process technical request information to deliver and protect the site. Server and security logs may include IP addresses, requested URLs, timestamps, browser information, and error or suspicious-activity details. These logs are separate from the referral records described below.
Google analytics and advertising tools
The site uses Google Analytics 4 (GA4), Google Tag Manager, and Google Ads tags, integrated through the WordPress Site Kit plugin and tag configuration. These tools measure website use and advertising activity. Google Ads tags can support advertising measurement, conversion tracking, and remarketing. A recorded interaction is not necessarily a completed purchase.
Analytics can receive page URLs and referrers, browser and device information, approximate location, cookie or similar identifiers, and interaction details. Appliance Sherpa sends events about searches, model and part selections, completed price searches, displayed seller offers, seller-link clicks, and trade-pricing clicks. Offer-related events can include the part number, seller, condition, displayed price, shipping information, availability, and position in results. Google and other infrastructure providers also receive technical information needed to handle requests.
Google’s processing is described in Google’s Privacy Policy and how Google uses information from sites that use its services. Site Kit connects these tools to WordPress; it is not a separate checkout or a contact-submission service.
Cookies and your choices
Google analytics and advertising tools may use cookies or similar browser storage to measure visits and advertising interactions. WordPress and security services may also use cookies for functions such as signed-in sessions and protecting the site.
You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Google also provides an Analytics opt-out browser add-on and advertising controls. These controls have different scopes: opting out of Google Analytics does not stop operational server logging or Appliance Sherpa’s separate referral records. Blocking cookies or scripts may affect some site functions. This policy does not treat continued browsing as consent.
First-party referral records
Appliance Sherpa separately records seller-offer impressions and outbound seller clicks to understand how comparisons are used and to support referral reporting. A record includes a random event identifier, a random identifier for that price-search session, timestamps, the part and seller, the displayed offer details, its position, a limited page path, and a cleaned destination URL.
This referral system does not store your IP address, browser user-agent string, email address, account ID, Google client ID, or a persistent visitor identifier in its records. The search-session identifier is held in page memory rather than a tracking cookie. Infrastructure logs and Google tracking are separate and have different data handling.
Referral records can support seller reporting such as counts of displayed offers and outbound clicks. These are observed interactions, not verified purchases or a count of unique people.
Contact messages and third-party purchases
If you email us through the Contact page, we receive your email address and whatever information you include. We use it to respond and handle your inquiry through our email service. The Contact page does not collect messages through an on-site form.
Appliance Sherpa does not take payment or collect checkout billing, shipping, or payment-card details for purchases made on third-party seller sites. When you follow a seller link, that seller and its service providers may receive the destination URL, referral information, and normal browser-request information. Review its privacy policy before providing personal information or purchasing.
Service providers, security, and retention
Information is processed by the services used to host, secure, analyze, and operate Appliance Sherpa, including Google and our email provider. We may disclose information when required by law or reasonably necessary to protect the site and its users. A commercial referral relationship does not mean that your email message is sent to a seller.
We use HTTPS to protect information in transit. No website or transmission method can promise complete security. Referral records currently have no automatic deletion schedule. Retention of analytics, hosting/security logs, and email messages depends on the applicable service settings and operational needs; this policy does not promise a single deletion period for every system.
Privacy questions and requests
Depending on your location and the information involved, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, or restrictions on its use. Email help@appliancesherpa.com with your request. We may need information to locate the relevant records and verify the request. Avoid sending identification documents or sensitive details unless specifically needed and requested.
We may update this policy as the service changes. The effective date above identifies the current version.
